Order of St Alexander 1892-1945 (2nd Type)
The suspension was changed when Ferdinand I came to the throne around 1891 to the form of the modified Imperial Crown with upturned pendelia.

Grand Master's Collar
Worn only by the Sovereign The badge with diamonds is
suspended from the neck on the Grand Master's Collar The Lesser Collar The badge is suspended from the neck on this coller and is acompanied by the Grand Cross Breast Star worn of the left breast The Grand Cross This badge in white enamel is worn suspended from a sash. There are three devisions of this Order. Grand Cross without Swords, Grand Cross with Swords. and Grand Cross with Surmounted Swords and in addition an appropriate Grand Cross Breast Star which is without the crown and with a pin back to be worn on the left breast. In addition to the above some awards had diamonds on them. All of the Grand Cross classes with diamonds were awarded to foreign royalty. 1st Class This badge in green enamel is worn suspended from a sash. There are three devisions of this Order. 1st Class without Swords, 1st Class with Swords. and 1st Class with Surmounted Swords and in addition an appropriate Breast Star which is without the crown and with a pin back to be worn on the left breast.In addition to the above some awards had diamonds on them. All of the 1st classes with diamonds were awarded to foreign royalty. 2nd Class This badge in white enamel is worn suspended from a neck ribbon. There are again three devisions of this Order. 2nd Class without Swords, 2nd Class with Swords. and 2nd Class with Surmounted Swords and in addition a Breast Star which is without the crown and with a pin back to be worn on the left breast. In addition to the above some awards had diamonds on them. All of the 2nd classes with diamonds were awarded to foreign royalty and heads of state 3rd Class This badge in green enamel is worn suspended from a neck ribbon. There are again three devisions of this Order. 3rd Class without Swords, 3rd Class with Swords. and 3rd Class with Surmounted Swords, but it is not awarded with the Breast Star. In addition to the above some awards had diamonds on them. All of the 3rd classes with diamonds were awarded to foreign royalty and diplomats 4th Class This badge in white enamel is worn suspended from ribbon on the left breast. There are again three devisions of this Order. 4th Class without Swords, 4th Class with Swords. and 4th Class with Surmounted Swords, 5th Class This badge in white enamel is in silver and worn suspended from ribbon on the left breast. There are again three devisions of this Order. 5th Class without Swords, 5th Class with Swords. and 5th Class with Surmounted Swords, |
